Our restoration process begins with carefully selecting quality vintage lugged steel road bike frames or complete bicycles. Most of the bikes are from the 70's and 80's, the Bike Boom Era, but some are dated earlier and some later. We do our best to date each bike from either the serial number or on dates located on certain components on the bike.

  • Every bike is completely disassembled and inspected.

  • The frame is thoroughly cleaned, buffed out and waxed to give new life to the paint, making it look amazingly new again. Of course there might be a scratch here and there, as would be expected from a pre- owned bike of this age, but all are dent free.

  • All components are thoroughly cleaned in our environmentally safe aqueous parts washer, then polished and lubricated.

  • All parts are carefully inspected and replaced if necessary; all bearings are lubricated, reassembled, and properly adjusted for a perfect
    ride.

  • Wheelsets are cleaned, lubricated, polished and trued.

  • All bikes receive new tires, tubes, rim strips if needed, chains, grips or bar wrap, bell, reflectors, cables and housings. Some vintage pedals and saddles are reused, but most are usually new as well.

  • Then the art work process begins. New parts are added to bring out certain colors on the bikes. Some are more colorful and whimsical and some are more classic and vintage looking. Each bike has its own unique look.

  • The original wheelsets are reused on some of the bikes. Some have new flip flop wheelsets. New wheelsets are available on all bikes as an upgrade.

  • Most all of the bikes are built up with a single speed freewheel. The gear inch ratio is approximately 66.7.  For example 42 - 17.

  • Fixed gear cog and lockrings are available as an upgrade.

  • A few bikes are left as 10 speeds and are always available upon special request at no extra charge.

  • We take great pride in every bike we restore, as if it was our own.
